📝 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1️⃣ Nationality
- For IAS, IPS, IFS: Must be a citizen of India.
- For other services: Must be either:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee (who came to India before January 1, 1962), or
- A person of Indian origin (PIO) from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam.
2️⃣ Educational Qualification
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university/institute.
- Final-year students awaiting results can also apply, provided they submit proof before the Main Examination.
3️⃣ Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years (as of August 1, 2025).
- Maximum Age: 32 years (Relaxation available for reserved categories).

📌 SELECTION PROCESS
The UPSC Civil Services Exam follows a three-stage selection process:
🟢 Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Paper 1 – General Studies (GS) (200 marks)
- Paper 2 – Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) (200 marks)
- Total Marks: 400
- Negative Marking: Yes (1/3rd deducted for each wrong answer)
- Qualifying Paper: CSAT is qualifying (33% required)
🟡 Stage 2: Mains Examination (Descriptive Type)
- Total Papers: 9 (7 are counted for merit)
- Subjects: Essay, General Studies (GS I-IV), Optional Subjects (2 Papers), and Compulsory Language Papers
- Total Marks: 1750
- Languages: English & Hindi (Regional language option available)
🔴 Stage 3: Personality Test (Interview)
- Total Marks: 275
- Evaluation Criteria: Leadership skills, judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making ability
