The Department of School Education, Assam, organized Gunotsav 2025 in three phases across the state.
Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu stated:
“Gunotsav 2025 will be held in three phases from January 6 to February 9, assessing 43.23 lakh students across 45,629 schools. We seek everyone’s cooperation.”

Phase I Districts:
Barpeta, Bajali, Karimganj, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sivasagar, South Salmara-Mankachar, Udalguri.
Phase II Districts:
Baksa, Chirang, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Hojai, Jorhat, Kamrup (Metro), Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Tinsukia.
Phase III Districts:
Bongaigaon, Biswanath, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Cachar, Nalbari, Morigaon, Dima Hasao, Majuli, West Karbi Anglong.
Note: Gunotsav for Bajali and Tamulpur was conducted under Barpeta and Baksa, respectively.
Evaluation Process of Gunotsav 2025
School Evaluation
Schools must submit self-assessment reports online three days before External Evaluation. This includes: Co-Scholastic Activities

External Evaluation
- Evaluators visit schools to verify reports through direct observation, stakeholder interaction, and data validation.
- Any modifications are updated in the system on the same day.
OMR-Based Student Evaluation
Assessment is conducted using OMR sheets.
Students (Class III & above) fill OMR sheets individually.
For Classes I & II, teachers/evaluators mark responses.
Each student receives an individual question paper.
