DEE LP UP Teacher Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for 4500 Vacancies
The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam has announced an exciting opportunity for aspiring educators! A total of 4500 Assistant Teacher positions are up for grabs in Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) Schools across Assam. Indian citizens who are permanent residents of Assam and have qualified the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) can apply online.

- Post Name: Assistant Teacher (LP & UP)
- Total Vacancies: 4500
- Lower Primary (LP): 2900 posts
- Upper Primary (UP): 1600 posts
- Department: Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam
- Pay Scale: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 (PB-2) + Grade Pay & Other Allowances as per Assam Govt. rules.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
- Applicants must be Permanent Residents of Assam.
Age Limit (As of 1st January 2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 40 years
Age Relaxation
- Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
- SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years
Small Family Norms Policy
Candidates with more than two living children on or after 1st January 2021 are not eligible as per Assam Govt. rules.
Medium of Instruction Requirement
Applicants must ensure that their ATET/CTET Language-I or Language-II matches the medium of instruction of the school they are applying to.
Educational Qualification
Assistant Teacher (LP)
- Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
- Qualified Assam TET or Central TET for Lower Primary
Assistant Teacher (UP)
- Graduate from a UGC-recognized University
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR B.Ed/B.El.Ed
- Qualified Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary
Science Teacher (UP)
- B.Sc. from a UGC-recognized University
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR B.Ed/B.El.Ed
- Qualified Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary
Hindi Teacher (UP)
- Graduate with Hindi as one of the subjects from a UGC-recognized University
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR B.Ed/B.El.Ed
- Qualified Assam TET or Central TET for Upper Primary
