Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has announced an exciting opportunity for aspiring teachers! A total of 4,500 vacancies are available for Assistant Teachers in Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) Schools under the Assam government.   • Post Name: Assistant Teacher (LP & UP)
  • Total Vacancies: 4,500
    • Lower Primary (LP): 2,900 posts
    • Upper Primary (UP): 1,600 posts
  • Department: Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam
  • Salary: ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 (PB-2) + Grade Pay & other allowances as per Assam Service Rules 2019

Who Can Apply?

1. Nationality

✔ Must be a permanent resident of Assam

2. Age Limit (as of 1st January 2025)

✔ Minimum: 18 years
✔ Maximum: 40 years

Age Relaxation

  • Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
  • OBC/MOBC: 3 years
  • SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
  • PwD: 10 years

3. Small Family Norms

Candidates with more than two living children after 01/01/2021 are not eligible as per Assam’s Small Family Norms Policy.

4. Medium of Instruction

The language of instruction in the school must match Language-I or Language-II in the candidate’s ATET/CTET certificate.

5. Mandatory TET Qualification

Candidates must have passed ATET/CTET for LP or UP levels.

Assistant Teacher (LP)

✔ Higher Secondary (12th) with 50% marks
✔ 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
✔ ATET/CTET for LP level

Assistant Teacher (UP)

✔ Graduate from a UGC-recognized university
✔ 2-year D.El.Ed OR B.Ed OR B.El.Ed
✔ ATET/CTET for UP level

Science Teacher (UP)

✔ B.Sc. from a UGC-recognized university
✔ 2-year D.El.Ed OR B.Ed OR B.El.Ed
✔ ATET/CTET for UP level

Hindi Teacher (UP)

✔ Graduate with Hindi as a subject from a UGC-recognized university
✔ 2-year D.El.Ed OR B.Ed OR B.El.Ed
✔ ATET/CTET for UP level
